The Congress-led front has secured a decisive victory in the Kerala Assembly elections, winning 102 out of 140 constituencies, according to the final results announced on Monday.
The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF) managed to win only 35 seats, marking a significant setback for the alliance.
In a notable development, the BJP-led NDA opened its account in the state by winning three constituencies. The party registered victories in Kazhakkoottam and Nemom in Thiruvananthapuram district, where V Muraleedharan and Rajeev Chandrasekhar emerged victorious respectively. In Kollam’s Chathannoor constituency, BJP candidate B B Gopakumar also secured a win.
The results mark a major political shift in Kerala, with the Congress returning to power with a clear majority.
