New Delhi: Chief Election Commissioner of India and Chairman of the Council of Member States of International IDEA, Gyanesh Kumar, on Tuesday met Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to India, Azamat Yeskarayev, at Nirvachan Sadan in New Delhi.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening democratic cooperation in line with the vision outlined at the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (International IDEA) Conference on Democracy (IICDEM) 2026.
The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in election management and enhancing the training of election officials. Both India and Kazakhstan agreed to work closely to promote the exchange of knowledge, best practices and institutional expertise in the field of electoral administration.
The meeting underscored the growing cooperation between the two countries in strengthening democratic institutions and improving electoral processes through international partnership.
