New Delhi: The Ministry of Ayush is expanding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) across Ayurveda and other Ayush systems, building on the digital foundation created by Ayush Grid.
AI-powered tools such as the MAISP Chatbot, ARP Research Assistant, eLMS Chatbot, e-CHARAK Chatbot, Yoga Saarthi and Nivesh Saarthi are being developed for citizen services, research, education, medicinal-plant trade, yoga guidance and investment support.
The Ministry’s Ayurveda AI initiative was also featured in the AI Impact Casebook on Health, developed with the World Health Organization, highlighting a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) approach for evidence-based Ayurvedic knowledge.
Through the IndiaAI Innovation Challenge, the Ministry is also exploring AI solutions for voice-based electronic health records, disease-trend detection and personalised treatment support. A 2025 WHO, ITU and WIPO technical brief has further highlighted the potential of AI in traditional medicine while stressing responsible and evidence-based use.
