New Delhi: Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has ordered the immediate suspension of Anurag, a Marketing Officer in the Agriculture Ministry, following allegations that he sought bribes from two warehouses in Madhya Pradesh’s Sehore district.
The action followed a complaint alleging that the officer demanded money during an inspection in return for releasing subsidy payments. According to the complaint, ₹1 lakh was allegedly sought from Shivay Warehouse in Bhairunda tehsil, while ₹60,000 was allegedly demanded from Shri Krishna Warehouse at Beherakhedi village in the Rehti area.
The complaint was brought to the attention of Minister Chouhan, who directed officials to take immediate action. Subsequently, the Marketing Officer was suspended with immediate effect.
The Ministry said the action reflects its serious approach towards complaints of alleged irregularities and bribery in government processes involving farmers and warehouse operators.
