Kerala Governor Backs CM Vijayan, Calls for Unity in State-Centre Talks

Thiruvananthapuram: In a surprising show of support, Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan has backed Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in presenting the state’s demands to the central government. Stressing the need for unity, the Governor urged all stakeholders to collaborate without politicizing crucial issues affecting the state.

This comes at a time of escalating tensions between the Kerala government and the Centre over financial and administrative concerns. CM Vijayan has repeatedly highlighted the state’s financial struggles and called for increased central assistance to address pressing development needs.

Recognizing Kerala’s legitimate concerns, Governor Khan underscored the importance of a cooperative approach. “Achieving our goals requires collective effort, and it is essential to put aside political differences for the greater good of the state,” he asserted.

The Governor’s unexpected alignment with the state government marks a significant shift, given his history of disagreements with the administration. His endorsement of the Chief Minister’s demands is expected to strengthen Kerala’s position in its negotiations with the Centre, adding a new dimension to the ongoing debate over federal relations.
