Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala is set to experience intense weather fluctuations as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts heavy rainfall and soaring temperatures over the next two days. A yellow alert has been issued for Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Pathanamthitta on Tuesday, while Malappuram and Wayanad will be on alert Wednesday. Rainfall is expected to range between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm within 24 hours.
Adding to the challenge, the IMD has also warned of a heatwave in multiple districts, including Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikode, and Kannur, with temperatures likely to soar up to 37°C. The combination of high humidity and extreme heat is expected to create oppressive weather conditions, especially in lowland areas. Authorities have urged residents to stay cautious and take necessary precautions as Kerala gears up for a mix of heavy rains and sweltering heat.
