“India’s Air Quality Crisis: Top 10 Most Polluted Cities in October 2024”

India’s air pollution crisis reached critical levels this October, with the Air Quality Index (AQI) exposing dangerously high pollution in major cities. Delhi leads as the most polluted, with an AQI of 310 due to vehicle emissions, construction dust, and seasonal stubble burning. Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh (AQI: 300) and Bhiwani, Haryana (AQI: 289) also struggle with air quality due to industrial emissions.

Rohtak and Jind in Haryana are severely impacted by pollution from nearby urban centers and agricultural burning, while Ghaziabad (257) and Noida (252) in Uttar Pradesh suffer from rapid urbanization and traffic pollution. Other high-risk cities include Bahadurgarh and Kaithal in Haryana and Hajipur, Bihar, where a mix of industrial and vehicular emissions pose serious health threats.

As winter sets in, authorities are urged to take action to mitigate pollution levels, given the health risks for millions of residents across these affected areas.
