Thimpu: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Shri Gyanesh Kumar met the Prime Minister of Bhutan during his visit to the country on September 15, 2026, to attend the National Voters’ Day function.
During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on the shared democratic values of India and Bhutan. They also discussed the enduring role of spirituality and culture in strengthening the close and longstanding bonds of friendship between the people of the two countries.
The meeting highlighted the strong people-to-people ties and shared democratic values that continue to underpin relations between India and Bhutan.
