Dehradun: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Wednesday presented recognition certificates to 26 minority educational institutions in the state, while authorities sealed five unrecognised madrasas in Udham Singh Nagar district.
Dhami handed over the certificates at an event titled “New Identity, New Respect – A Bright Future through Modern Education.”
Describing the recognition granted by the State Minority Education Authority as a significant step, the chief minister said it marked a positive beginning towards strengthening minority education in Uttarakhand.
Meanwhile, five madrasas found operating without the required recognition were sealed in Udham Singh Nagar district as part of the action by the authorities.
