Guwahati: The flood situation in Assam worsened on Wednesday, with nearly 50,000 people affected across four districts, according to an official bulletin.
The rising floodwaters have inundated several areas, disrupting normal life and affecting thousands of families.
Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who visited the flood-hit areas in Dhemaji district, assured that the Centre would provide all possible assistance to the Assam government for relief, rehabilitation and recovery efforts.
He said the Union Government stands firmly with the people of Assam and will extend full support to help those affected by the floods.
