Suresh Gopi Inaugurates ‘Nava Bharat Sadas’ and Viksit Bharat Convention in Thrissur

Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas and Thrissur MP Suresh Gopi inaugurated the ‘Nava Bharat Sadas’ and Viksit Bharat Convention organised as part of efforts to highlight the Central Government’s 12 years of development achievements.

The event was chaired by BJP Thrissur City District President Justin Jacob. BJP State Vice-President Adv. B. Gopalakrishnan delivered the keynote address. BJP regional president A. Nagesh, general secretaries P.K. Babu, K.P. George and Dr. Bindu also addressed the gathering. The programme was coordinated by Sabeesh Maruthayoor, Praseed Das and Sudheesh Menothuparambil.

In his inaugural address, Suresh Gopi said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Union Government has been implementing policies aimed at public welfare and sustainable development over the past 12 years. He stated that the government’s focus extends beyond building roads and infrastructure to empowering citizens through economic and self-reliance initiatives.

He added that the Modi government’s decisions are guided by a long-term vision for India’s future and called upon citizens and party workers to work together towards the goal of a “Developed Kerala” alongside a “Developed India.”

Suresh Gopi also said that ministers, MPs, MLAs and party workers are conducting nationwide outreach programmes to directly interact with people and spread awareness about the Centre’s achievements over the last 12 years. The objective, he noted, is to ensure that government schemes and development benefits reach the last citizen.

Responding to questions regarding the establishment of an AIIMS in Kerala, Suresh Gopi said he believes the time has come for the state to get an AIIMS. He pointed out that the state government must suggest suitable locations and that such an institution would contribute significantly to the overall development of the region where it is established.

He further stated that priority should be given to developmentally backward regions of Kerala, while emphasizing that his primary concern is that an AIIMS should be established somewhere in the state.

Highlighting the Centre’s healthcare expansion, Suresh Gopi said the number of AIIMS institutions in the country has grown from four to more than twenty under the Modi government, expressing confidence that an AIIMS in Kerala would eventually become a reality.

The event also featured an interactive session during which the Union Minister answered questions from the public regarding various Central Government schemes. The programme witnessed participation from party workers and members of the public from different sectors.
