Kerala’s dairy cooperative Milma has decided to increase the price of milk by ₹4 per litre, with the revised rates set to come into effect after May 6, the board of directors announced.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the board, following earlier discussions on revising milk prices. The hike comes after receiving approval from the state government.
Meanwhile, the Ernakulam Union, led by a Congress-backed panel, has expressed protest over the delay in implementing the revised rates immediately.
Milma had earlier recommended a price increase in the range of ₹4 to ₹6 per litre before finalising the current hike.
