Over 32,000 Americans Evacuated from Middle East Amid Rising Tensions

New York: The United States has successfully carried out a large-scale evacuation mission to bring back its citizens stranded in conflict-affected regions of the Middle East. According to Assistant Secretary Dylan Johnson, more than 32,000 American citizens have already returned safely to the United States since the intensified evacuation operations began on February 28.

Officials said the number could rise further when including those who have temporarily relocated to other countries and those currently in transit back to the U.S.

The evacuation effort is being coordinated under the direct supervision of the United States Department of State. So far, more than 20 charter flights have been arranged, enabling the direct evacuation of over 5,000 people.

Although commercial flight services in parts of the region are gradually returning to normal, authorities said the government will continue to expand charter flights and land-based travel options due to ongoing security concerns. A dedicated task force has been operating around the clock to coordinate the evacuation and provide assistance to citizens.

American citizens currently in countries such as Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Israel have been advised to fill out a “Crisis Intake Form” to receive travel assistance.

So far, more than 19,000 people have received safety guidance and travel support from the task force. Interestingly, nearly half of those who sought assistance have chosen not to use the travel arrangements provided by the government. Many prefer to remain in their current locations or arrange alternative travel options independently.

The State Department has assured that it is ready to assist any American citizen wishing to leave the Middle East. In case of emergencies, citizens can contact the department at +1-202-501-4444 at any time.

Assistant Secretary Dylan Johnson emphasized that the U.S. government will use every available diplomatic and technical resource to ensure the safety and safe return of its citizens.
