New Delhi: India has strongly denounced Pakistan’s recent airstrikes on Afghan territory, terming the action a serious breach of sovereignty and a destabilising move for the region. In a firm response, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said the strikes reflect Pakistan’s continued attempt to “externalise its internal failures.”
New Delhi reiterated its steadfast support for the sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of Afghanistan, stressing that any security concerns must be addressed through dialogue rather than unilateral military action.
The condemnation follows reports that Pakistan carried out cross-border strikes targeting what it described as militant hideouts. However, authorities in Kabul have reportedly viewed the action as a violation of Afghan territory.
India has long backed a stable and peaceful Afghanistan, investing in major development and humanitarian initiatives across the country. Officials underlined that respecting international borders and avoiding escalatory steps are crucial for ensuring lasting peace in the region.
With tensions simmering, diplomatic engagements are expected to intensify in the coming days as regional stakeholders closely monitor the evolving situation.
