Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Economic Development Authority (KERA) has reached out to agri-business companies across India, inviting them to collaborate with Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) in Kerala to unlock new market opportunities for the State’s premium agricultural produce.
The initiative is aimed at building sustainable and long-term linkages that connect Kerala’s farm products with local, national, and global markets. By bringing together FPCs and agri-business players, KERA hopes to strengthen value chains, improve market access, and ensure better returns for farmers.
Officials said the partnerships will focus on sectors where Kerala enjoys a strong edge, including spices, coconut-based products, plantation crops, fruits and vegetables, and organic produce. Agri-business partners are expected to contribute through technology support, processing and packaging, branding, logistics, and access to export networks.
The move is part of Kerala’s broader strategy to promote farmer-led enterprises, boost rural incomes, and position the State as a hub for high-quality and sustainable agricultural products. KERA will also facilitate business matchmaking, investment opportunities, and policy support to make collaborations commercially viable.
With growing demand for traceable and premium food products, the initiative is expected to create a win-win model—empowering farmers while offering agri-business players reliable sourcing and long-term growth opportunities.
