Kochi: Gold prices in Kerala have once again slipped below the ₹90,000 mark per sovereign, following a sharp decline of ₹520 on Monday. With this drop, the price of gold stands at ₹89,800 per sovereign, while the price per gram has fallen by ₹65, bringing it down to ₹11,225.
This marks the second time in recent weeks that gold has dipped below ₹90,000. The last time was on October 28, when prices briefly fell before rebounding the next day. On Friday, gold surged by more than ₹1,000 per sovereign, crossing ₹90,000 once again. However, persistent fluctuations in the international market have caused prices to slide back down.
Over the past ten days, gold has witnessed significant volatility, with prices dropping by as much as ₹9,000 per sovereign before beginning a short recovery on October 30. Despite the temporary rise, prices have once again declined amid global market uncertainty.
The all-time record high for gold remains ₹97,360 per sovereign, registered on October 17. Analysts attribute the recent fall to economic uncertainty in the United States and fluctuating trends in the international bullion market. Experts note that changes in global gold prices continue to have a direct impact on the Indian market, driving both sharp gains and sudden declines.
