V. D. Satheesan on Monday took oath as the 13th Chief Minister of Kerala at a grand ceremony attended by top political leaders and a large crowd of supporters.
Rajendra Arlekar administered the oath of office to Satheesan, who took the oath in the name of God. Along with the Chief Minister, members of the 21-member cabinet were also sworn in.
Several prominent national and state leaders attended the swearing-in ceremony, including Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, Revanth Reddy, Siddaramaiah, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D. K. Shivakumar, Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan.
The presence of opposition leaders on the main stage drew attention during the ceremony.
After Satheesan, P. K. Kunhalikutty took oath as minister, followed by Ramesh Chennithala and Sunny Joseph.
Other ministers sworn in include K. Muraleedharan, Bindu Krishna, A. P. Anil Kumar, P. C. Vishnunath, M. Liju, Roji M. John, T. Siddique, O. J. Janish Kumar, K. A. Thulasi, N. Shamsudheen, P. K. Basheer, K. M. Shaji, Abdul Gafoor, Shibu Baby John, C. P. John, Anoop Jacob and Mons Joseph.
