Security forces seized at least 20 firearms and a large quantity of ammunition during two separate operations in Manipur’s Imphal West district, police said on Monday.
According to an official statement, a major cache of 16 weapons and ammunition was recovered from the Langol hill range under the jurisdiction of Lamphel Police Station on Sunday.
The seized items included ten pistols, an INSAS rifle, a .303 rifle, a detonator and five live rounds of ammunition.
Police said further investigation is underway to trace those linked to the hidden arms cache.
