THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala’s capital witnessed a grand display of culture and tradition on Sunday as the week-long Onam celebrations came to a colourful close with a spectacular procession through the city.
Vice President C P Radhakrishnan flagged off the concluding procession, which featured traditional art forms, music, dance and vibrant cultural performances. Hundreds of artists and performers from Kerala and other parts of the country participated, transforming the city streets into a lively showcase of India’s diverse cultural heritage.
Governor Rajendra Viswanath Arlekar and Chief Minister V D Satheesan also attended the event and presented mementoes to the Vice President.
The grand procession marked the finale of the annual Onam festivities, drawing large crowds and bringing the celebrations to a festive close.
