Panaji: The Third BIMSTEC Conference on Traditional Medicine Knowledge, Genetic Resources and Intellectual Property Rights began in Goa on Wednesday.
Organised by the Ministry of Ayush in collaboration with the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), Goa, the two-day conference brings together experts, officials and representatives from BIMSTEC member countries.
The conference focuses on strengthening regional cooperation in traditional medicine, including research, education, standardisation, regulation and knowledge exchange.
Officials also highlighted the need to conserve traditional knowledge, protect community interests and promote equitable benefit-sharing through research and innovation.
