Gujarat Announces Financial Relief Package for Flood-Hit Valsad and Navsari

Valsad: The Gujarat government has announced a financial rehabilitation package for people affected by recent heavy rains and floods in Valsad and Navsari districts. State Minister Jitu Vaghani said on Thursday that traders, lorry owners, and other affected groups in the two districts will receive financial assistance on the same pattern as the relief package announced earlier for Surat and Ahmedabad.

Vaghani said the state government has given special priority to Valsad and Navsari due to the exceptionally heavy rainfall recorded in the districts. The relief package is aimed at supporting families and businesses in recovering from the damage caused by the floods.

According to an official release, around 18,000 beneficiaries in Valsad district have already received various forms of assistance. This includes ₹3.50 crore in direct cash aid, ₹9.50 crore in household assistance, and additional financial support for housing rehabilitation.

The Gujarat government said it will continue relief and rehabilitation efforts to ensure timely assistance reaches all eligible flood-affected residents in the two districts.
