Students Invited to Celebrate World Earth Day 2026 at National Science Centre

New Delhi: The National Science Centre will host a series of events on April 22 to mark World Earth Day 2026, bringing together students and science enthusiasts under the global theme “Our Power, Our Planet.”

The celebration will begin at 10:00 AM with a popular science lecture titled “Exploring Antarctica: A Journey to the White Continent.” The session will be delivered by Dr. Amitava Sen Gupta, a distinguished professor from the Department of Space at Indian Space Research Organisation. The lecture aims to provide insights into Antarctic research and the scientific significance of the region.

At 11:00 AM, the Centre will conduct an Open House Quiz Contest focused on environmental science and biodiversity. The interactive quiz is designed to engage young participants, encouraging awareness and critical thinking on ecological issues.

The event is part of the Centre’s broader initiative to promote scientific learning and environmental responsibility. By connecting students with experts and hands-on activities, the programme seeks to highlight the role of science in addressing global environmental challenges.
