Red Alert in Two Districts on Monday

Idukki and Palakkad will be under red alert on Monday. Orange alerts have been issued for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Malappuram.

Low-Pressure Systems to Bring More Rain

The strengthening of rainfall is attributed to a low-pressure area over the Arabian Sea and a deep depression over the Bay of Bengal. A low-pressure area over the southeastern Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep region, along with a trough extending across Kerala towards the north Tamil Nadu coast, is also influencing the weather.T

The India Meteorological Department has forecast isolated thunderstorms and strong winds reaching 30–40 kmph in parts of the state until Tuesday.

Fishing Ban Along Kerala Coast

Fishing has been prohibited along the Kerala, Karnataka and Lakshadweep coasts until Monday. Residents have been advised to follow official weather updates and safety instructions, particularly in landslide-prone and low-lying areas.
