Senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has reportedly expressed dissatisfaction following the party’s decision on the Kerala chief ministership and is considering resigning as an MLA.
According to party sources, Chennithala conveyed his decision to resign during a phone conversation with Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, who had contacted him to inform him about the high command’s final decision.
Sources said Chennithala told the party leadership that he could no longer continue while facing repeated neglect within the party. He has also reportedly instructed his office to prepare a resignation letter.
Meanwhile, Congress leaders are trying to pacify Chennithala, and there are indications that the party may offer him the Home Minister portfolio in the new Kerala cabinet.
