Rahul Gandhi, Kharge Seek Probe into Alleged Misuse of Ayodhya Ram Temple Donations

New Delhi: Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding an independent investigation into the alleged embezzlement of donations collected by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.

In their joint letter, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and the Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha said that lakhs of devotees who contributed their hard-earned money to the Ayodhya Ram temple with faith and devotion now feel “betrayed” by the alleged theft.

The Congress leaders urged the Prime Minister to order a comprehensive and impartial probe into the Trust’s financial affairs, ensure accountability, and recover any misappropriated funds if wrongdoing is established.

Kharge also shared the letter on social media platform X, stating that devotees deserve transparency and justice regarding the handling of temple donations. He described the Prime Minister’s silence on the matter as “unacceptable” and called for immediate action to restore public confidence.

The allegations have added a fresh political dimension to the ongoing debate over transparency and accountability in the management of public donations to the Ayodhya Ram temple.
