Rairangpur: President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday participated in a programme marking two years of the Odisha Government and jointly inaugurated 60 projects while laying foundation stones for 12 others worth ₹47,600 crore.
The projects span sectors including energy, industrial infrastructure, roads, drinking water, health, education, tourism and irrigation, and are aimed at boosting regional connectivity and economic growth.
Addressing the gathering at Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district, President Murmu said development becomes meaningful only when its benefits reach every village, every family and every citizen. She also said India’s stature on the global stage has risen under the effective leadership of Prime Minister Modi.
Welcoming the Prime Minister to Mayurbhanj, the President said his visit reflected his special affection for Odisha and brought immense joy to the people, especially the tribal community.
