An industrialist from Himachal Pradesh has donated ₹1.01 crore to the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee following the reopening of the Himalayan shrines for the current pilgrimage season.
Mahinder Sharma, Chairman and Managing Director of ANS Constructions Private Ltd, handed over the cheque to BKTC Chairman Hemant Dwivedi on Friday.
Mahinder Sharma, who has been associated with the temple committee for over a decade, is the first devotee to contribute more than ₹1 crore since the temples reopened this season.
The donation comes as the revered shrines witness a steady flow of pilgrims after reopening, marking the beginning of the annual pilgrimage period.
