President Droupadi Murmu Unveils Landmark Women-Centric Welfare Schemes in Delhi

New Delhi: In a major push toward women’s empowerment and social welfare, President Droupadi Murmu on Monday launched four transformative welfare schemes introduced by the Government of Delhi. The initiatives are designed to strengthen financial security, enhance access to essential services, and promote greater independence among women across the capital.

The newly unveiled programmes focus on supporting women from economically weaker sections through targeted financial aid, improved healthcare benefits, and expanded opportunities for skill development and self-reliance. Officials described the schemes as a significant step toward inclusive growth and gender equity.

Adding festive cheer to welfare outreach, the President also launched a special scheme providing two free LPG cylinders annually to ration card-holding families during Holi and Diwali. The initiative aims to ease household expenses and promote clean cooking fuel usage during the country’s most celebrated festivals.

Speaking at the event, the President underscored that empowering women is key to national development, emphasizing that when women thrive, families and communities prosper. The Delhi government reaffirmed its commitment to women-focused governance, stating that these schemes mark a decisive move toward building a more equitable and supportive social framework.
