PNG Users Asked to Surrender LPG Connections Within 15 Days

The Civil Supplies Commissioner has directed consumers who have access to piped natural gas (PNG) to surrender their LPG connections immediately.

The move comes amid ongoing restrictions on LPG distribution across the country due to the prevailing geopolitical situation in West Asia. The directive follows a Gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on March 14 (S.O. 1333(E)).

According to the order, consumers who are already receiving natural gas through pipelines are not permitted to apply for new LPG connections or refill existing cylinders. Such users have been given a deadline of 15 days to surrender their LPG connections.

Officials said consumers can complete the surrender process through the official portal (mypngd.in) or by directly informing their respective LPG distributors.

The directive aims to streamline LPG availability and prioritise supply amid current constraints.
