New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday paid tributes to freedom fighters Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak and Chandra Shekhar Azad on their birth anniversaries, remembering their immense contributions to India’s freedom movement.
Paying homage to Lokmanya Tilak, the Prime Minister described him as a towering figure of the independence struggle who awakened the spirit of nationalism and inspired generations to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation. Modi also praised Tilak’s efforts to promote Indian culture and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood, noting that his writings instilled confidence and a sense of pride among the people.
The Prime Minister also remembered revolutionary freedom fighter Chandra Shekhar Azad, saying his fearless courage and unwavering patriotism hold a proud place in the history of India’s freedom struggle. Modi said Azad inspired countless young Indians to devote themselves to the nation and that his determination continues to motivate generations.
In separate posts on X, the Prime Minister paid homage to both leaders and highlighted their enduring legacy in shaping India’s nationalist movement and inspiring public service.
