PM Modi Hails 100 Years of Service by Arya Vaidya Sala Charitable Hospital in Kerala

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday lauded the century-long legacy of the Arya Vaidya Sala Charitable Hospital, describing it as a shining example of India’s timeless healthcare wisdom blended with modern service values. Addressing the hospital’s centenary celebrations, the Prime Minister praised the institution’s unwavering commitment to charity, ethical medical practice, and the global promotion of Ayurveda.

Highlighting Ayurveda as a holistic way of life rather than just a system of treatment, Prime Minister Modi said institutions like Arya Vaidya Sala have been instrumental in taking India’s traditional medical knowledge from local roots to international recognition. PM noted that the hospital’s focus on affordable and accessible healthcare has benefited generations of patients, especially the underprivileged.

The Prime Minister also underlined the Centre’s efforts to strengthen traditional systems of medicine through initiatives such as AYUSH, wellness tourism, and scientific research to validate Ayurveda on global platforms. Kerala, PM said, plays a leading role in this movement, with its strong heritage and global reputation in Ayurvedic treatment.

Recalling the hospital’s journey since its establishment in 1902, PM Modi commended its contributions to patient care, medical education, and social service. PM said the institution stands as a model of how tradition and innovation can come together to serve humanity.

The centenary event was attended by senior officials, Ayurveda experts, healthcare professionals, and representatives of Arya Vaidya Sala, marking a landmark moment in Kerala’s rich Ayurvedic tradition and its enduring relevance in modern healthcare.
