PM Modi Congratulates Iraq’s New Prime Minister, Reaffirms Strong Bilateral Ties

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday congratulated Ali Falih Kadhim al-Zaidi on assuming office as the Prime Minister of Iraq and reaffirmed India’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with the country.

In a message posted on X, Prime Minister Modi said India deeply values its longstanding and friendly ties with Iraq and remains committed to expanding cooperation across all sectors.

“Heartiest congratulations to Ali Falih Kadhim al-Zaidi on assuming office as Prime Minister of Iraq,” Modi said in the post.

The Prime Minister also conveyed his best wishes to the Iraqi leader and expressed hope for working together towards the shared progress and prosperity of both nations.

India and Iraq share long-standing diplomatic and economic relations, with energy cooperation remaining one of the key pillars of bilateral engagement between the two countries.
