Bishkek: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday attended the 26th SCO Council of Heads of State meeting in Bishkek, as the organisation marked its 25th anniversary.
Modi called for stronger cooperation on security, connectivity and development, and reiterated that conflicts can be resolved only through dialogue and diplomacy. Describing terrorism as a serious threat, he urged SCO members to take firm action against terror networks without double standards.
He also stressed that connectivity projects must respect national sovereignty and territorial integrity and announced that India will host the first SCO Civilisation Dialogue Forum later this year.
The summit adopted the Bishkek Declaration, four MoUs and more than 20 decisions and statements on issues including climate, nuclear safety, energy conservation and combating drug addiction.
