Over 65,000 New Cancer Cases Reported Annually in Kerala: Veena George

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala reports over 65,000 new cancer cases every year, said Health Minister Veena George while highlighting the state’s efforts in cancer prevention and treatment. She emphasized the growing concern over the increasing number of cancer patients despite Kerala’s advancements in healthcare.

The minister stated that the government is strengthening cancer screening programs at the grassroots level to ensure early detection and timely treatment. She also stressed the importance of awareness campaigns to educate people on cancer prevention and the significance of regular health check-ups.

As part of the state’s cancer campaign, free screening camps and awareness programs are being conducted across Kerala. The government is committed to expanding healthcare investments to improve cancer care facilities and provide better support to patients, Veena George added.
