Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala government has decided to implement special measures in wildlife attack-prone areas by forming rapid response teams to mitigate human-wildlife conflicts.
As part of the initiative, a primary response team of trained volunteers will be established to handle wildlife protection and preventive activities. These teams will be deployed in 273 grama panchayats across 75 assembly constituencies where wildlife intrusions are frequent.
The move aims to strengthen early intervention, improve rescue operations, and ensure better coordination between forest officials and local communities. The government is also considering additional safety measures, including enhanced surveillance and awareness programs.
