Over 1,000 Drug Peddlers Arrested in First 50 Days of ‘Nasha Mukt J&K’ Campaign

More than 1,000 drug peddlers have been arrested and 341 kg of narcotics seized during the first 50 days of the ‘Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan’, officials said on Saturday.

The anti-drug campaign, launched by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on April 11, is being described as one of the biggest crackdowns on drug trafficking and narco-terrorism in the Union Territory.

According to officials, properties worth over ₹200 crore linked to drug networks have been attached or demolished as part of the operation, which aims to dismantle the entire narcotics ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.

Official data showed that between April 11 and May 29, the Jammu and Kashmir Police registered 923 FIRs related to narcotics offences and arrested 1,018 accused.

Authorities said the campaign has significantly disrupted drug trafficking and narco-terror networks operating in the region, with enforcement agencies continuing their intensified action against those involved in the illegal trade.
