Over 10 Injured in Fire at Haldia Petrochemicals Naphtha Pipeline

Haldia: More than 10 people were injured after a major fire broke out at a naphtha-carrying pipeline of Haldia Petrochemicals in West Bengal’s Purba Medinipur district in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to officials, the blaze was first detected at around 2.45 a.m. and rapidly spread to Chiranjibpur in Ward 13 of Haldia Municipality, engulfing several nearby houses.

Twelve fire engines were rushed to the spot, and firefighting operations continued as authorities worked to bring the flames under control.

The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Officials are assessing the extent of the damage, while the cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
