Tirupati: Union Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi on Tuesday said India has transformed from a power-deficit nation into an energy-surplus country during the 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led government.
Addressing a press conference in Tirupati to mark the completion of 12 years of the NDA government at the Centre, Joshi highlighted achievements in the energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, and welfare sectors. He described the period as one marked by trust, development, and public welfare.
“Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India has moved from darkness to light and from a power-deficit nation to an energy-surplus country over the past 12 years,” the minister said.
Joshi said the government’s focus on expanding power generation capacity, strengthening infrastructure, and improving access to electricity has played a key role in the country’s energy transformation. He added that initiatives across various sectors have contributed to economic growth and improved the quality of life for millions of citizens.
The minister also underscored the government’s commitment to inclusive development and welfare programmes, stating that the achievements of the past 12 years reflect the NDA’s vision of a stronger and more self-reliant India.
