International Fake Degree Network Busted in Kanpur; Four Held

The Kanpur Police on Tuesday claimed to have uncovered an international fake degree racket, arresting four people, including the alleged mastermind behind the operation.

According to police, the 32-year-old kingpin and three associates were apprehended during raids conducted in the Kidwai Nagar and Bekanganj areas of the city.

Investigators said the accused were operating a sophisticated illegal printing unit from a residential building, where forged academic certificates and educational documents were produced on a large scale.

The racket allegedly manufactured fake documents ranging from high school mark sheets to PhD degrees and supplied them to clients across several states in India as well as overseas. Police said the forged certificates were distributed through courier services and digital communication networks.

Officials believe the operation had an extensive reach and may have been active for a considerable period. The police have seized printing equipment, forged documents, and other materials from the premises.

Further investigations are underway to identify additional suspects, trace beneficiaries of the fake certificates, and determine the full extent of the network’s operations in India and abroad.
