NTA to Conduct Nationwide Mock Drill Ahead of NEET Re-Examination

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct a nationwide mock drill on Saturday to assess preparedness for the upcoming NEET-UG re-examination scheduled for June 21.

The exercise, which will begin at 9 a.m. and continue throughout the day, is aimed at evaluating security arrangements and operational readiness at examination centres across the country. More than 2.5 lakh security personnel are expected to participate in the mock drill.

The move comes after the NEET-UG examination held on May 3 was cancelled following allegations of a question paper leak. The revised examination is set to take place on June 21 under enhanced security measures.

Meanwhile, the Central Government had temporarily restricted access to the Telegram messaging platform as part of efforts to prevent the spread of leaked examination material and strengthen exam security.

The decision was subsequently upheld by the Delhi High Court, which endorsed the government’s measures aimed at ensuring the integrity and fairness of the national-level entrance examination.
