Leh: The Jawahar Institute of Mountaineering and Winter Sports (JIM&WS), Pahalgam, successfully completed a mountaineering-cum-paragliding expedition to the 5,921-metre-high Mt Delta-41, also known as Mt Barmal, in the Tangol region of Ladakh, a defence spokesperson said on Monday.
The 13-member team was led by JIM&WS Principal Colonel Hem Chandra Singh, who said the expedition marked a significant achievement in India’s adventure history.
The successful mission demonstrated the team’s spirit of adventure and national pride while highlighting India’s growing presence in adventure sports across the challenging and largely unexplored mountain ranges of Zanskar in Ladakh.
The expedition also underscored the potential of the region for mountaineering and high-altitude adventure activities.
