The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Friday seized Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines worth ₹73.24 lakh over alleged objectionable and misleading advertisements, including products manufactured by Divya Pharmacy and marketed under Baba Ramdev’s Patanjali brand.
According to the FDA, simultaneous raids were carried out across Mumbai, Konkan, Pune, Nashik, Amravati, Nagpur and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar divisions under the provisions of the Drugs and Magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisements) Act.
Officials said medicines manufactured by Divya Pharmacy, Haridwar, valued at ₹7,26,755 were seized in the Nagpur division. In the Nashik division, stocks worth ₹7,10,945 were also confiscated during the operation.
The FDA stated that the action was part of a statewide drive against medicines promoted through misleading or objectionable advertisements, aimed at ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
