Kollam: Kollam has recorded the highest ultraviolet (UV) radiation levels in Kerala, prompting authorities to issue warnings for public safety. The extreme UV exposure poses health risks, including sunburn and skin-related issues, especially during peak afternoon hours.
Along with UV alerts, several districts in the state are also under rain warnings due to changing weather patterns. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has advised people to take necessary precautions, such as wearing protective clothing and avoiding direct sun exposure during midday.
Health experts urge residents to stay hydrated, use sunscreen, and limit outdoor activities during peak UV hours. Meanwhile, authorities are closely monitoring the weather conditions to issue further updates as required.
