The Kerala government has decided to increase Plus One seats in government higher secondary schools to address the admission shortage in several districts.
A 30 per cent seat increase has been announced in government schools across seven districts — Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Malappuram, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod.
The government has also approved an additional 20 per cent margin increase in schools in these districts. Aided schools seeking additional seats will be allowed a further 10 per cent increase.
The decision was taken in view of the rising demand for Plus One admissions in the state.
