Kejriwal Alleges Gujarat Has Become Major Entry Point for Drugs

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday alleged that Gujarat has become a major gateway for drug trafficking into India despite being governed by the BJP.

Speaking after attending a meeting of the Punjab State Traders Commission along with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Kejriwal claimed that the source of drug inflow into Punjab has shifted significantly in recent years.

He said that when the AAP government assumed office in Punjab, around 70 per cent of drugs entered the state from Pakistan through drones, while 30 per cent came through Gujarat. According to him, the situation has now reversed, with nearly 70 per cent of drugs, including ‘chitta’ (adulterated heroin), allegedly entering through Gujarat.

Kejriwal further stated that the Punjab government had successfully curtailed drug smuggling from Pakistan by deploying anti-drone systems along the international border, enabling authorities to detect and neutralise drones before they crossed into the state.

The BJP has not yet responded to the allegations.
