Congress Demands US Apology Over Death of Indian Seafarers

New Delhi: The Congress on Saturday said India should have demanded and secured an apology from the United States following the death of three Indian seafarers in American military strikes on commercial vessels off the coast of Oman.

Congress leader and AICC media and publicity chairman Pawan Khera described the US action as “illegal, reckless, and unacceptable” in a post on X. He criticized the strikes and called for accountability over the loss of Indian lives.

Senior Congress leader Shashi Tharoor also expressed concern, stating that the absence of any expression of regret from the US for the deaths of innocent Indian nationals was deeply shocking.

The Congress party urged the Indian government to take up the matter strongly with Washington and seek an official apology for the incident.
