THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall across Kerala on Sunday, issuing rain alerts for all districts in the state.
An Orange Alert has been issued for Kannur, Wayanad, Kozhikode and Kasaragod districts, while the remaining districts are under a Yellow Alert.
The IMD has also warned that very heavy rainfall is likely on June 29, with Orange Alerts issued for Kannur and Kasaragod districts. Rainfall is expected to intensify further by June 30, and residents in hilly and landslide-prone areas have been advised to remain on high alert.
Authorities have urged people living in areas vulnerable to landslides, mudslides and flash floods to move to safer locations if instructed by officials. Residents living along riverbanks and in low-lying areas downstream of dams have also been advised to exercise caution and closely follow official advisories.
