Kasaragod: The Kasaragod district administration has declared a holiday for all educational institutions on Wednesday following the forecast of extremely heavy rainfall in the district.
The decision was taken after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) warned of the possibility of very heavy rain in Kasaragod. District Collector announced the holiday as a precautionary measure amid the continuing adverse weather conditions.
The holiday applies to schools, colleges, professional colleges, anganwadis, tuition centres, ICSE and CBSE schools, Kendriya Vidyalayas, madrasas, and all other religious educational institutions in the district.
However, residential schools will function as usual, and scheduled university examinations and interviews will be held without any changes, the District Collector clarified.
Meanwhile, the IMD has forecast heavy rainfall across Kerala for the next five days, urging residents to remain alert and follow official advisories.
