Authorities have announced financial assistance for the family of Jessy, who was killed in a wild elephant attack at Meppadi in Wayanad.
South Wayanad DFO Ashiq Ali said a compensation of ₹10 lakh would be provided to the family, of which ₹5 lakh would be handed over immediately as emergency assistance.
Minister T Siddique said ₹10,000 would be given for Jessy’s funeral expenses. He also assured that the government would extend all possible support to the family and consider providing a job to one of the family members.
The minister said steps would be taken to ensure necessary assistance to the affected family. The announcements come amid growing concern among residents over increasing wild elephant attacks and demands for urgent measures to improve safety in the region.
