Kochi: Gold prices in Kerala have continued to rise for the fourth consecutive day, reaching this month’s highest rate. The price of gold increased by ₹120 per sovereign (8 grams), bringing the rate to ₹58,400. The price per gram rose by ₹15, now standing at ₹7,300.
At the beginning of this month, the price of one sovereign was ₹57,200, marking a surge of over ₹1,000 in just ten days. On January 3, gold prices crossed ₹58,000, briefly dipped below it, and have now climbed back above this mark.
Experts attribute this steady increase to global market trends and fluctuations in the dollar-rupee exchange rate.
The rising gold prices reflect growing demand and global economic uncertainties, making gold a preferred investment for many.
